Hi, I am Travis Paterson the creator of this Wiki and as part of my action research project I want to find out how explicit teaching of values education impacts student wellbeing and academic learning.

I am a teacher at Surrey Hills Primary School, the Surrey Hills in Melbourne, as opposed to the Surry Hills in Sydney or anywhere else for that matter. I am currently teaching year 3 students and want to know if my teaching of values education has any impact on students' moral compass, if so how much and how can this be measured? Also, does the teaching of values education have any correlation with students' academic results, and again if so how can this be measured? The staff at my school have found that there are limited tools for measuring student wellbeing across the school so if you have ideas please let me know. We currently use the student survey data but of course would like more. So if your school is doing more please fill me in.

I will be examining this over the course of the next year and will be implementing a number of ideas while also tracking the impact of my ideas and how successful, or unsuccessfully these have been. I am also interested in your opinions and feedback so please make comments on the discussion area page.
